When a mysterious, unbelievably powerful yellow octopus-like creature suddenly obliterates seventy percent of the moon, leaving it permanently in the shape of a crescent, the nations of the world are thrown into sheer panic. The creature, dubbed 'Koro-sensei', is virtually indestructible, capable of moving at staggering speeds of Mach 20, and easily evades all conventional military weapons. Shockingly, instead of destroying the Earth immediately, Koro-sensei offers humanity a truly bizarre deal: he will delay the planet's complete destruction for exactly one year, but only on the condition that he is allowed to teach Class 3-E, the lowest-ranked, most heavily marginalized group of outcast students at the prestigious Kunugigaoka Junior High School. The government agrees, secretly tasking the students of Class 3-E with an impossible mission: assassinate their cheerful, yellow teacher before graduation. However, as the misfit students learn advanced assassination techniques and gain incredible self-confidence under Koro-sensei's uniquely brilliant tutoring, they slowly realize that the monster threatening the world might actually be the greatest and most deeply caring teacher they have ever had. Assassination Classroom is a phenomenal, highly original blend of explosive action, hilarious comedy, and surprisingly profound emotional growth.
